Whitey, the owner of Whitey's Ice Cream Palace, located at 16760 S. Oak Park Ave., has wanted to have an old fashion 50's Sock Hop at his location in Tinley Park for quite a while!! Well, he has finally made his wish come true!! The plans have finally been put in place, & the date is set; it's Friday August 7th, 2009!! Please come and join him and enjoy a trip back to the simpler times when we used to cruise the drive ins & ice cream emporiums all around the Chicago area!! The plan for that night is to dance the night away to all the great 50's hits, eat some old fashion ice cream & hot dogs, and just have a great ole time!! The festivities start around 7:00 pm and are planned to run to 10:00 pm or whenever Whitey decides he's had enough!! There will be an ice cream eating contest, awards for the best dancers of the evening, and there will be food & beverage specials all night long!! A small number of great looking 50's vintage hot rods will be on display (weather permitting), and all in all this should be a night you'll remember for a long long time!!
